On next 28 April the 3rd meeting of the Network of Mediterranean Arbitrations Centres will take place in Cairo. The current members of the Network are the Milan Chamber of Arbitration (CAM), Italy; the Arbitration Department of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), Turkey; the Tunis Mediation and Arbitration Centre (CCAT), Tunisia; the Centre for Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation of Algiers (CACI), Algeria; the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), Arbitration Court of Morocco (ICC), Morocco.
The Network’s Coordinator is Professor Charles Jarrosson, renowned name in the international arbitration community and also a connoisseur of the juridical systems in Mediterranean countries.
The Lebanese Arbitration Centre will attend the meeting in quality of observer.
The discussion will deal mostly with solutions for reaching a homogenised methodology in managing arbitral procedures among the Centres and with the independence and the impartiality of arbitrators. The wished conclusion of the Meeting would be constituted by the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding between the current Centres members of the Network, representing the first step of future joint work path.
